The Association of Video Professionals just completed their Fall 2007 Member conference and training in Atlanta Georgia. By all accounts, it was deemed as a big success by it’s members. “The instructors were ‘top notch’, and the content really hit the mark of what our members need in their businesses” states Dave Mungai, Executive Director for the association.
The conference featured a line up of nationally and internationally renowned instructors like Larry Jordon (Final Cut Guru extraordinaire), Frank Dorritte (two time Grammy award winner), Clay Asbury (Director of Training at MTA Atlanta), Larry Weaver (SEO Optimization Expert) and Bill Eveleth (ActionCoach Master Licensee).
Members took advantage of technical classes such as Advanced Final Cut Editing techniques, Soundtrack Pro, Improving audio in your video productions, and Photoshop for video. There were also several business related classes focused on supplying AVP members with tools they can use to grow their businesses and increase profits. Patricia Greene of Greene Video Services in Phoenix AZ states “It was a fantastic overall training session and the instructors were great!”
In addition to the great training provided, members also enjoyed many social benefits at the conference. “Our members are spread across the country from California to New York. We meet just twice a year so typically communication between members is done via our forum or over the phone” says Mungai. “One of the biggest benefits of these conferences is the opportunity to share ideas and interact with each other face to face”.
Pictures are available on the AVP Events Web Page.
With this conference behind them, AVP will now begin planning it’s next conference which is slated for February 2008 on the west coast.
