Talks underway to develop a strategic alliance between The Association of Video Professionals and ShoppingCenterVideo.com

May 12th, 2009, Miami Florida:  ShoppingCenterVideo.com and The Association of Video Professionals (aovpros.com) recently entered discussions to develop an alliance that would benefit both organizations and more importantly, provide better service to their end customers.

ShoppingCenterVideo.com has quickly become a leader in the Shopping Center Marketing Industry. They are rapidly changing the shopping center industry by providing developers, brokers, appraisers, leasing agents, landlords and tenants with a specialized and user-friendly platform to market their properties.

One of the valuable services ShoppingCenterVideo.com provides their customers is the ability to post videos of the properties to their website so prospective investors can view and evaluate the shopping center prior to booking a costly trip. That’s where the Association of Video Professionals (AVP) comes in.

AVP is a Nationwide Network of Independently owned Professional Video Production and Service companies. They currently have listings in all 50 states through their findavideoprofessional.com directory with over 1000 plus participants and growing every week. The primary mission of AVP is to help its members succeed by driving qualified sales leads to them.

“I am excited about the potential benefits this partnership could produce for both companies” says Dave Mungai, Executive Director for AVP. “ShoppingCenterVideo.com has a need to produce quality videos for its customers with a quick turn-around. Through our national network, we can identify and book a video professional that meets those requirements resulting in a win-win for everyone involved”.

“We are excited to be in discussions with AVP because it gives us the ability to produce quality shopping center videos for our clients in cities on an as needed basis.” says Charles Silver, President for ShoppingCenterVideo.com

This is just one more example where business to business alliances can help strengthen growing companies and provide better value in the marketplace. Additional announcements will be made as the details of the program are worked out.

Certified Legal Videographer - Jeff DeMello

AVP Studios, Awards, Legal Video, Training No Comments »

American Guild of Court Videographers

American Guild of Court Videographers

Casper, WY: The American Guild of Court Videographers is proud to announce the certification of professional videographer Jeffrey T. DeMello, owner of Stockton Legal Video Services, a division of DeMello Video & Photo Services LLC, located in Stockton, California as a “Certified Court Video Specialist” (CCVS) after having successfully completing all the requirements of the AGCV for certification as a forensic videographer.

The AGCV is the only organization in the United States that is training and certifying professional videographers in all phases of legal video. As a “Fellow” in good standing in the AGCV, Mr. DeMello becomes one of a very few in the nation allowed to promote and advertise their expertise in the field of legal video using the official logo and certification provided by the AGCV.

The AGCV training includes preparing its members in meeting all the stipulations of the Federal Rule 30 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Federal Rules of Evidence in regard to the video taping of depositions, producing day-in-the-life and settlement documentaries, taping scenes of crimes and incidents, showing video evidence of damages, video recording mock trials, the will execution ceremony, construction surveys and actually displaying the video evidence in the courtroom during trial.

The certification provided by the AGCV is limited to “professional videographers” as the AGCV is not in the business of training amateurs on the operation of a video camera. To meet the requirements of the rapidly changing technology, each certified member is required to stay abreast of the profession by completing additional continuing education.

To be certified as an expert in this exciting and exacting legal video profession is indeed a great accomplishment and we at AVP extend our congratulations to Jeff.

Great Free Resource for Photoshop shapes, layer styles, gradients, and more!

Information, Training, Work Flow No Comments »

Ran across the following site the other day when looking to add some custom shapes to my Photoshop library.

www.ladyoak.com

This is a fantastic site with hundreds of free shape libraries, layer styles, gradients, and even free tutorials. After the AVP training session in February on creating better DVD Studio Pro menu’s with Motion and Photoshop, I’ve been doing more with button overlays and custom menu’s. I was looking for more ideas on creative button’s and this site certainly filled that bill. Content is totally free. Check it out!

AVP Winter 2009 Training Exceeds Expectations

AVP News, Conference, Training No Comments »

The Association of Video Professionals just completed their Winter 2009 Member conference and training in Orlando Florida. “This was probably the best conference & training event we’ve had so far”, stated Dave Mungai, Executive Director for the association. “Based on survey results from the attendees, they rated the overall value of the conference to their businesses at 4.8 out of 5! Although there is always room for improvement, I think we achieved our goal of providing timely, pertinent training that our members could take home and put to use in their businesses right away”

Here are just a couple of comments from attendees….

“In my opinion this was the best conference I’ve ever been to regardless of association - great location/facility, great instructors, cool shirt favor, and everything ran very smoothly. I know I speak for everyone when I say we appreciate all the association does”

-   –Bill Stilson, Stilson Video Services, Woodmere, OH.

“I am 100% confident that I could not have managed this weeks work without having attended the recent AVP conference. One day after the training I had thrown my self into the deep end of a big job and I was so so happy I had taken the sound track class and the lighting class last week.  I shot in a factory and followed a money tip (for me) from Dane to capture an ambient noise print before rolling the talent.  Well this plant was full of loud and varies noises so first thing I did when I walked in was go to each spot of the bottling lines and shoot a noise sample.  Now I can remove that easily from my editing piece using the techniques Larry Jordan taught!! Thank the Lord for AVP!”

–Steven Volk, Volk Video Services, Birmingham, MI

This conference featured training on production lighting and composition by 25 year broadcast veteran and documentarian J. Dane MacKendrick (www.danedv.biz). Final Cut & Soundtrack Pro training from FCP Guru Larry Jordan (www.larryjordan.biz), Motion & DVD Studio Pro training by Klark Perez and Mary Plummer, both Apple Certified Master trainers and authors of the Apple DVDSP & Motion Training manuals (www.invisiondigital.com), Also featured was Ron Sukenick (www.ronsukenick.com) who taught a class on low cost/no cost marketing techniques and also delivered a key note speech on growing your business in a down economy.

In addition to the great training provided, members also enjoyed many social benefits at the conference. “Our members are spread across the country from California to New York. We meet just twice a year so typically communication between members is done via our forum or over the phone” says Mungai. “One of the biggest benefits of these conferences is the opportunity to share ideas and interact with each other face to face”.
